The Monkey Pod (Suar) wooden bases are hand carved and then kiln dried using ancient techniques and motifs that were brought to Bali from Timor, the wood originating from the village farms in Java. The bases are crafted in Ubud and the process takes weeks to complete. We think you will agree they are the perfect complement to our beautiful Parasols. Due to the nature of the wood and the liming and kiln drying process, no two bases are the same and there will be variations. The handmade methods used in producing our beautiful Parasol Bases can result in potentially long lead times because of the limited production capacity available, We are sure you will agree they are worth the wait.
